Jeff Wilpon is the only Mets executive who didn’t graduate from college. When you’re the son of owner Fred Wilpon, did he really have to?

The Mets lost today to the L.A. Dodgers 1-0 ending one of the worst road trips in Mets history at 2-9. The Mets are 8 games behind the NL East leading Atlanta Braves, and Jeff Wilpon yawns and sips a glass of white wine.

He doesn’t panic about anything and laughs reading the Wall Street Journal.

Meanwhile, Mets fans are suffering. Some ache in silence and others scream loudly and call WFAN to complain.

They wish Jeff Wilpon would sell the Mets to some other wealthy New Yorker like Donald Trump. Mets fans need an owner with a pulse who actually has a brain, and more importantly a lethal desire to win.

They want their own Stienbrenner instead of Daffy Duck.

US Government told Scottish Officials that the Lockerbie Bomber's Release Okay for Compassinate Reasons or Was It?

Well, does this mean that my senator, Charles Schumer, is going to haul David Axelrod in front of a Senate hearing?

This whole fained outrage concerning the release of the Lockerbie Bomber from Scottland to Lybia months after it took place is nothing more than a fishing expedition for Democrats to find some more darts to throw at BP for the upcoming mid-term elections.



Well, it blew up in Chuck’s face today.

The US Government told Scottish officials that the Lockerbie bomber's release on compassionate grounds was ''far preferable'' to his transfer back to a Libyan jail, it was revealed today.



Speaking to Sky News today, Mr Salmond said: ''I think a fair description of the American Government's position is that they didn't want al-Megrahi to be released.



Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond said today that while America ''didn't want'' Abdelbaset al-Megrahi to be released, they would rather see him freed on account of his terminal cancer, than under the prisoner transfer agreement between the UK and Libya.



Megrahi is the only person convicted of the 1988 bombing in which 270 people were killed.



He was released in August last year after doctors said he was dying of prostate cancer and had three months to live - prompting fury in the US.



Last week, President Barack Obama told a White House press conference that the US had been ''surprised, disappointed and angry'' about Megrahi being released.



Speaking to Sky News today, Mr Salmond said: ''I think a fair description of the American Government's position is that they didn't want al-Megrahi to be released.



''However, if he was to be released, they thought it was far preferable for compassionate release as opposed to the prisoner transfer agreement.''



He also said this opposition was probably because the so-called ''deal in the desert'', signed by ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair, which paved the way for the prisoner transfer agreement, was signed at the same time as an oil deal with Libya.



But the American Ambassador to the UK Louis Susman said the US had ''strongly objected'' to any type of release.



He said the US was examining whether its correspondence over the issue could be released but refused to be drawn on the reported memo.



''What you saw in the (Sunday) Times was supposedly a leaked memo or letter which did not state the facts of the letter and we don't comment on correspondence between two governments until both governments agree to release it,'' he told BBC Radio 4's The World This Weekend.



He added: ''It is quite clear that the US government was strongly against the release of Megrahi. We had a mutual understanding with the British Government that if he was tried and convicted he would serve his entire sentence in Scotland.



''The fact that the justice minister made a decision on compassionate grounds to release him was something we were not in favour of.



''We obviously had conversations with them in which we strongly objected to any type of release.''



Calls for the decision to release Megrahi to be re-examined grew in volume in the wake of the Gulf of Mexico Oil spill, and reports that BP had lobbied for the bomber to be freed.



The US Senate Foreign Relations Committee announced plans for an inquiry into the bomber's release, but Scottish justice secretary Kenny MacAskill and former foreign secretary Jack Straw have both rejected calls to give evidence in person.

The time to raise a fuss about this release was August 2009 when it happened. But, we didn’t see a big cry over it from the Obama regime. And Charles Schumer to my recollection was quiet as well.

Chelsea Clinton to Join Family Business and a Wedding Too

The days is fast approaching and Chelsea Clinton’s $10 million pre nup is safely tucked away in the vault.

Her father was the once world's most powerful politician, her mother is now the USA's top diplomat and both are immediately recognised around the globe.



So it is all the more remarkable that Chelsea Clinton has done such a good job of avoiding the spotlight for much of her life.



But that is about to change. Next weekend the former first daughter is to marry her long-time boyfriend, Marc Mezvinsky, a financier - an event which, with a glittering array of guests expected from around the world, will put her unavoidably in the spotlight.





What is more, The Sunday Telegraph has been told that Miss Clinton is also being groomed to take on her parents' formidable legacy on the international stage.





Armed with a newly-acquired master's degree in public health from New York's prestigious Columbia University, she is being lined up for a top role at the philanthropic foundation set up by her father, ex-president Bill Clinton.



The expectation among friends and family is that she will eventually take over its running from her father - ensuring that, as he eventually assumes a lower public profile, that part of his legacy continues to be burnished for a generation to come.



For now, however, Miss Clinton, 30, clearly has other priorities. On Saturday, she will marry Mr Mezvinsky, 32, an investor banker whose parents both served in Congress and whose father recently completed a different sort of term - five years in prison for fraud.



The bride has done her best to keep the details secret. Her mother, secretary of state Hillary Clinton, said in Pakistan last week that she is under strict orders to let nothing slip, although she did reveal that her husband was a bundle of nerves.



The 400 guests have so far only been told that they should make sure they are within driving distance of New York next weekend. But it will come as no surprise when they are informed that their destination is a country mansion just outside Rhinebeck, 90 miles north of the city.



More specifically, unless the family has deployed huge resources and scores of Secret Service agents in one of the great bluffs of all time, they will be directed to Astor Courts, a 26,000 sq ft mansion inspired by Versailles and built by tycoon John Jacob Astor IV who later died on the Titanic.



A partial guest list has also emerged in and it just as glittering as might be expected for the only child of American political royalty. President Barack Obama, talk show queen Oprah Winfrey, singer Barbra Streisand, Hollywood mogul Steven Spielberg, media baron Ted Turner and a clutch of Clintonista politicos have reportedly been invited.



So too have the two British prime ministers who were Mr Clinton's counterparts during his presidency - Tony Blair, with whom the Clintons are close, and perhaps more surprisingly John Major. There may be one notable absentee - Mr Obama is thought to have politely declined in the hope of preventing the event becoming even more of a media scrum.



What Miss Clinton does next is, of course, shrouded in the secrecy she so desires. Mr Clinton has evidently confided to friends that he hopes to become a grandfather. And his daughter is expected to take on an increasing role with his foundation - with the ultimate goal that she could succeed him and continue the family brand on the world stage.





For now, the 63-year-old ex-president maintains a tough international schedule, despite his heart problems. In February - after a trip to Haiti with his daughter - he was taken to hospital with chest pains and was fitted with two stents to restore blood flow to a coronary artery, five years after undergoing quadruple bypass surgery. But one day he will have to listen to doctors' advice to slow down.



Miss Clinton studiously avoids media attention, gives no interviews and has shown no interest in following her parents' into politics - despite her assured and impressive appearances on the campaign trail for her mother during the 2008 Democratic presidential primary race.



Rather than return to her job at Avenue Capital, a New York hedge fund run by a prominent Clinton donor, she went back to college to study health policy and management at Columbia.





She took courses that focused on international health initiatives and programmes to tackle Aids - just the sort of work conducted by the Clinton Foundation, set up by her father in New York after he left the White House in 2001. He has since turned his Clinton Global Initiative meetings into a glitzy fixture on the world charity calendar.



Miss Clinton's interest in global health issues is long-standing. As a student, she interned one summer at the World Health Organization in Geneva, working on a United Nations initiative on healthy environments for children.



"If you look at what Chelsea has studied and what she specialised in, it all points to her being groomed to take over the Clinton Foundation," said an insider at Columbia.

Shirley Sherrod Needs to Kiss Andrew Breitbart’s Feet

It’s so funny how The Left is breaking their collective necks going all kissy face on Shirley Sherrod after temporarily throwing her under the bus.

They’re very busy making her out to be a civil rights icon with a compelling history. But, let me remind the Left she had the same history BEFORE she got fired for allegedly making racially insensitive remarks at a NAACP event.

Did it matter then?

The Left is doing exactly what they cited Andrew Breitbart of doing, presenting Ms. Sherrod out-of-context to cover their own sins.

According to the Left, the Sherrod affair started with Andrew Breitbart showing a snippet of a video and you pretty much know the rest of the story.

But, they conveniently leave out the reason why Breitbart presented the video in the first place. It was in direct response to the NAACP passing a resolution calling the Tea Party Movement a bunch of racists.

It was a case of tit for tat, and the Left shot themselves in the foot, and have been trying to make it up to Shirley Sherrod ever since by repackaging her as Civil Rights Stalwart.

It’s a clever deception meant to rehabilitate the Left, the NAACP, and Ms Sherrod while simultaneously demonizing only Andrew Bretbart.

So now Shirley Sherrod becomes the Left’s version of Joe the Plumber.

You’re in very good position right now because you got the Left by the balls. If you’re smart you can play this into something very lucrative for yourself in either the Left or the Right world.

Think about it, Shirley!

But, remember this.

When it hit the fan, the NAACP, the organization which prides itself on advancing African Americans stomped on you like a cocker roach because you became an expendable asset.

Look at hiw Rangel treats Jason Mattera who also asks relavent questions Rangel never gets form the suck up media.


Rangel is not used to being treated by the press this way and questions Russet’s professionalism and accuses him of acting disrespectfully.

That’s because the expected mode of behavior for the press is to advocate, to cheerlead, and parrot whatever the Democrat Party wants them to say.

There is no free press anymore.

It’s willingly enslaved by Liberalism.

They have gladly become public relations associates for the Democrat Party masquerading as the press.
