Insights has told The Last Tradition that Nancy Pelosi has given the Congressional Black Caucus marching orders to mount a smear campaign against Republicans and fellow Democrats who either vote against or fail to support Obama’s health reform bill.
The idea behind the smear campaign is to divert the public’s attention away from the merits of what’s actually written in the bill to stir the base into coming out in force next November 2010.
Democrats believe that the base will be dispirited and stay home in droves, thus the need to pull out the race card to get their feet moving to the polls.
