National Day of Prayer 2010 Canceled By President Obama?
There are conflicting reports and I will update as needed.
From Film Myfair.com:
National Day of Prayer, an official support of religion, has been allegedly cancelled by the instructions of President Barack Obama because of various reasons. Obama listened to the complaints from atheists and other religious services. From first, Obama has some doubts where to attend Sunday services. All the evangelical Christians were irritated, receiving this cancellation as insulting religion.
National Day of Prayer was first appointed by the President Truman. Later, this was made permanent on every first Thursday in May by the President Ronald Reagan along with an ecumenical service at the White House with President George W.Bush. This day was made permanent, in thought of celebrating the importance of the religion in American life. This year, National Day of Prayer would have taken place on May 6th, 2010 has been cancelled.
