Warning to Israel: Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wants the charges dropped against Hizbollah – or else.

The UK Telegraph reports that it is not often that a state visit by a foreign president plunges the host nation into political turmoil.

But then Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's presence in Lebanon is no ordinary visit.

On one level, the Iranian president's controversial tour of southern Lebanon, where yesterday he was literally a stone's throw from the Israeli border, should be seen as yet another example of the publicity-grabbing exploits that have become the hallmark of this eccentric leader.

What better way to distract attention from Iran's deepening economic crisis – the direct result of Mr Ahmadinejad's intransigence over the nuclear programme – than to stage a high-profile visit to about the only place in the world where he can truly be guaranteed a popular welcome.
During the past three decades, Iran has invested billions of dollars in turning the Shia Muslim Hizbollah militia into one of the dominant forces in modern Lebanese politics.

When I covered the Lebanese civil war for this newspaper in the mid-1980s, Hizbollah – or The Party of God – was a fringe group in the shadow of the more mainstream Amal movement, which represented Shia interests in the Lebanese parliament.

At that time, Hizbollah's main claim to fame was its role in blowing up the American embassy and the US and French military barracks with suicide lorry bombs, which, at the time, was a novel terrorist technique that killed hundreds of people. The group also masterminded the hostage crisis that caused Terry Waite, John McCarthy and Brian Keenan to spend years chained to radiators in dank cells in the Bekaa Valley.

So the fact that Hizbollah is now Lebanon's main political party, and a leading member of the coalition government, shows how far Iran's pet militia has come during the past 25 years. More to the point, its leadership also shares Iran's nihilistic attitude towards the feisty little Jewish state that is located on the other side of Lebanon's southern border. Armed and equipped by Iran, Hizbollah has already provoked one war with Israel, in the summer of 2006. And, given the thousands of missiles and rockets that Tehran continues to smuggle to Hizbollah strongholds in southern Lebanon, the militia clearly believes there is another conflict in the offing.

Afraid To Speak For Freedom and Change When it Matters

On Monday, President Obama said it was none of his business to get involved in Iran's sham elections where President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad clings to power through his usual thuggery.

Yesterday, Obama changed his mind and climbed into bed with Ahmadinejad, laying waste to the hundreds of thousands of brave protesters who have taken to the streets in search of freedom in the form of political challenger Mir Hossein Mousavi.

"The difference between Ahmadinejad and Mousavi in terms of their actual policies may not be as great as has been advertised," Obama said yesterday in an interview on CNBC.

"Either way we are going to be dealing with an Iranian regime that has historically been hostile to the United States."

In other words, "change" is entirely overrated.

He may as well have scoffed at protesters: "Let them eat hummus."

Amazingly, this is even worse than what Obama had to say the previous day, when he finally felt moved enough to comment on the surge of freedom watched around the world.

Asked if he had a message for the protesters, he said Iran is a sovereign nation, which is diplo-babble for "none of my business."

Obama said he does not want the United States to become an issue in the election and has suggested that was why he was tempering his comments.

But this is a moment when the United States can be an issue the good old-fashioned way -- as a beacon of hope for the oppressed everywhere. That's certainly why the protesters pleading for freedom aren't speaking Farsi, Hebrew or French.

They're begging for freedom in English.

About the time Obama was giving the shiv to protesters yesterday, Shirin Nariman stood outside the heavy black iron gates that protect the White House.

She was born in Iran, was jailed for opposing the regime, escaped to America and last year proudly voted for Obama.

Desperate for any small way to help amplify the cry for freedom she hears from family and friends back home, she stood outside the White House.

"Who is the champion of change?" asked Nariman. "The people of Iran are not asking for military interventions or any kind of help like that. Just hear us. That is all we ask."

Iran on Brink of Nuclear Weapon, warns Watchdog, Sanctions Not Working, Could Bombing Iran be Obamam’s October Surprise?

Anybody want to eat an appeasement-shit sandwich?

That’s exactly where we’re heading. The world of nations doesn’t seem to understand that you can’t sanction away danger.

President Obama said repeatedly on the campaign that Iran attaining a nuclear weapon would be quote, “a game changer”.

Well, it seems to me he doesn’t seem to mind if the game changes and Iran goes nuclear.

Could we be seeing a set-up for Obama’s “wag the dog” moment in which the U.S. and Israel take out Iran’s nuclear sites?

Democrats could really make some political hay out of that the same way they rallied around Bill Clinton when bombed Iraq during the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

I’m just sayin’..

The UK Telegrapph reports that Iran has passed a crucial nuclear threshold, weapons inspectors have warned, and could now go on to arm an atomic missile with relative ease.

A report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said Iranian nuclear scientists had made at least 22 kilograms of enriched uranium at least 20 per cent purity, a technical hurdle that is the hardest to overcome on the way to weapons-grade uranium.

Experts estimate that 20 kgs of uranium is the minimum required to arm a warhead. The uranium would still need to have its purity raised to 90 per cent, but that is a relatively easy process.

The country's refusal to answer questions on its attempts to make a nuclear warhead that could be fitted on to its most advanced missiles was denounced as a violation of sanctions.

Actor Jon Voight Writes Open Letter to President Obama

Jon Voight is a true patriot who loves this country. He’s one actor, although there are others, who has the courage to stand up for Conservatism in Liberal dominated Hollywood.

God bless Jon Voight!

From The Sean Hannity Show:

An open letter from actor Jon Voight to President Obama:
June 22, 2010

President Obama:

You will be the first American president that lied to the Jewish people, and the American people as well, when you said that you would defend Israel, the only Democratic state in the Middle East, against all their enemies.

You have done just the opposite.

You have propagandized Israel, until they look like they are everyone's enemy — and it has resonated throughout the world. You are putting Israel in harm's way, and you have promoted anti-Semitism throughout the world.

You have brought this to a people who have given the world the Ten Commandments and most laws we live by today. The Jewish people have given the world our greatest scientists and philosophers, and the cures for many diseases, and now you play a very dangerous game so you can look like a true martyr to what you see and say are the underdogs. But the underdogs you defend are murderers and criminals who want Israel eradicated.

You have brought to Arizona a civil war, once again defending the criminals and illegals, creating a meltdown for good, loyal, law-abiding citizens. Your destruction of this country may never be remedied, and we may never recover.

I pray to God you stop, and I hope the people in this great country realize your agenda is not for the betterment of mankind, but for the betterment of your politics.

With heartfelt and deep concern for America and Israel,

Jon Voight

Embolden Iran Spits in Obama’s Face and Offers Escort for Gaza Ships

I have no doubt that Israel and the IDF will continue to enforce the blockade irregardless of what Iran does. However, the only reason Iran has the hubris to assist this shame of a humanitarian flotilla is because the rest of the world has shown themselves to be a bunch of cowardly lions.

When you’re not willing to project unified strength ageist aggression, enemies get bolder and are willing to challenge the world’s resolve time after time.

Do you think Iran would dare do this under George Bush?

Hell no!

Bush would have put his foot up their ass!

But, nobody fears the community organizer-in-chief.

From The Jerusalem Post:

Supreme leader Khamenei offers military protection for activists.

Iran would be willing to send its Revolutionary Guard members to accompany further aid ships to Gaza, Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Sunday in an interview cited by Reuters."The naval wing of the Revolutionary Guard is ready to assist the peace flotilla to Gaza with all its effort and capabilities," Khamenei's Revolutionary Guard spokesman Ali Shirazi stated.

If the Supreme Leader issues an order for this then the Revolutionary Guard naval forces will do their best to secure the ships," Shirazi said. "It is Iran's duty to defend the innocent people of Gaza."

Last week, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad termed the IDF raid on the Gaza-bound Mavi Marmara as "barbaric" and called for dismantling of “the Zionist regime.”

World Guilty of Anti-Semitism: Israel is Always in the Wrong When They Do Right

For millions of people in world, Israel was wrong for trying to stop weapons from being smuggled into Gaza under the guise of humanitarian aid.

Yet, when women are routinely stoned and killed in Iran and other Muslim countries for violating Sharia laws, the world has nothing to say, the United Nations cowers in impudent silence, and the National Organization of Woman would rather squawk about the glass ceiling rather than holding a press conference to protest.

The Chinese government is allowed to order forced abortions and sterilizations and if you’re unlucky enough to be born female, you’re life isn’t worth a wad of spit. So state sponsored murder of little girls is no big thing and the world yawns and looks the other way.

Only Israel is held to a different standard.

Only Israel can receive condemnation by a gutless and shameless world because it’s easier than actually doing something about real injustice and unfairness, or actual cruelty, or state approved inhumanity.

It’s enough to cry out and beg the Lord to come back and end our misery.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Fully Supports IDF Military Action on Gaza Flotilla

What I love about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is he’s the strongest leader in the Western World that speaks clearly aand identifies the enemy for what they are-terrorists goons. He speaks for and defends his country without apology the way a real leader should.

Don’t mess with Israel, unless you want your ass kicked, and that’s the way it should be.

That’s the way America used to be.

Here is how a real leader sounds like.

From Fox News

The Israeli military attacked a Gaza-bound aid flotilla, leaving at least nine dead, after receiving reports that the fleet had links to al Qaeda, the Israeli ambassador to Denmark said Monday.

"Before the flotilla entered Israeli waters, rumor had it that the organizers [of the aid initiative] had links with the al Qaeda terrorist network," Arthur Avnon was quoted as saying on the website of public broadcaster DR.

"The people on board were not so innocent ... and I cannot imagine that another country would react any differently," the ambassador said before being summoned to the Danish foreign ministry to explain the attack.

Meanwhile, Israeli
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said he spoke Monday to top diplomatic and security officials by telephone from Canada and voiced his “full backing” for the military.
Before the ships set sail from waters off the east Mediterranean island of Cyprus on Sunday, Israel had urged the flotilla not to try to breach the blockade and offered to transfer the cargo to Gaza from an Israeli port, following a security inspection.

Commandos stormed
the six ships carrying hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists on an aid mission to the blockaded Gaza Strip. At least nine people were killed and dozens wounded after Israeli soldiers encountered an unexpected resistance when they boarded the vessels.

According to Netanyahu, the Israeli soldiers were attacked and defending themselves in the raid.

SLIDESHOW: World Responds to Israeli Gaza Flotilla Attack

Avnon echoed Netanyahu’s sentiments, lamenting the loss of life but saying, "the [Israeli] soldiers were welcomed with violence when they climbed on board. One of them was injured in the stomach and others were injured with baseball bats."

An Israeli military spokesman said two guns had been discovered on the ships and Israel's military chief, General Gaby Ashkenazi, blamed the violence on Turkish nongovernmental organization (NGO) IHH, which he characterized as "extremist."
Israel's Channel 10 television and Al-Jazeera both reported 19 dead, but the Israeli channel later revised that number down to nine. The Gaza branch of IHH put the death toll at 15, saying most of them were Turkish nationals.

The Israeli military said seven soldiers were wounded, one of them seriously.

The operation in international waters off the Gaza coast was a nightmare scenario for Israel that looked certain to further damage its international standing, strain already tense relations with Turkey -- the unofficial sponsor of the mission -- and draw unwanted attention to Gaza's plight.

White House spokesman Bill Burton, speaking on the eve of a meeting that President Barack Obama had scheduled at the White House with Netanyahu, said the United States "deeply regrets the loss of life and injuries sustained" in the incident. Netanyahu announced Monday he would cancel his White House visit to deal with the crisis.

Burton also said that administration officials are "currently working to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragedy." The United States, among others, has been trying to restart direct peace talks between the Israelis and Palestinians, but progress toward this achievement has lagged severely in recent months.

The tough Israeli response also drew condemnations from Turkey, France and the U.N.'s Mideast envoy, while Greece suspended a military exercise with Israel and postponed a visit by Israel's air force chief.
The U.N. Security Council announced they would meet Monday afternoon to discuss the attack.

Turkey's prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan described the raid as "state terrorism" Monday, as some10,000 Turks marched from Israel's Consulate in Istanbul toward the city's main square, shouting slogans denouncing Israel. The protesters earlier Monday tried to storm the Consulate building but were blocked by police.

In response, Israel advised its citizens Monday to avoid travel to Turkey and instructed those already there to keep a low profile and avoid crowded downtown areas.
