SERIAL KILLER ANTHONY SOWELL GUILTY OF 11 MURDERS

DEATH
CREEPY Anthony Sowell is the serial killer we all knew he was, a jury ruled yesterday.
The twisted former marine lured 11 women to his grotty apartment in his drug ridden Cleveland neighborhood with the promise of booze or crack cocaine.
Then he stuck, brutally beating them or throttling them to death, in a vicious crack cocaine fueled rage.
Calling no witnesses, he barely offered any explanation for his brutality, other than the nightmares brought on by the deadly drug -all of which involved him hurting women.
When he woke up they were gone.
He will now face the death penalty for the slayings after being convicted of multiple counts of aggravated murder and a number of other offenses.
Interviewed by cops he told them: "Reminded me of my girl, that’s the best I can tell you. It was like everything’s cool, she was spending the night or something."
But when he woke up he thought: "'Damn, where’d you go?’”
He also told detectives Sowell when if the women told him they had children at home while they were smoking crack.
He said: “One thing that always made me mad was they had kids. That’s a big thing in my head.”
Prosecutors say Sowell began running out of room in his backyard after he buried the bodies of four women there.
That’s when he began leaving them to rot on the third floor of his home.
"I'm glad justice has been done," said Audrey Webb, sister of victim Janice Webb told the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
"I'm glad it's over and he is getting what he deserves."

"NAILS" NAILED: LENNY DYKSTRA BUSTED FOR DRUGS

BASEBALL legend Lenny Dykstra has been busted for drugs and for his role in an elaborate car theft scheme, cops say.
The three time All Star nicknamed "Nails" during his career is accused of being part a three man team who tried to lease high-end cars from dealers this year by providing phony information and claiming credit through a fake business called Home Free Systems. Cops also found cocaine, Ecstasy and the synthetic human growth hormone Somatropin at his San Fernando Valley home.
It's just the latest in a string of brushes with the law for the one time
World Series winner, as he was charged with more than a dozen federal counts, including bankruptcy fraud, just last month.
When he filed for bankruptcy two years ago, claiming he owed more than $31 million and had only $50,000 in assets.
But Federal prosecutors contend that he hid, sold or destroyed more than $400,000 worth of items from the $18.5 million mansion without permission of a bankruptcy trustee.
He faces a maximum sentence of up to 80 years in prison if convicted in that case.
But the 48-year-old who has now been charged with 25 misdemeanor and felony counts of grand theft auto, attempted grand theft auto, identity theft and other crimes, said Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney's office.
He faces up to 12 years in state prison if convicted.
He was jailed on $500,000 bail with a bail-review hearing set for Friday and Robison said Dykstra had not obtained a lawyer to represent him in the case.
Dykstra was bullish about the charges however, telling the New York Daily News: "Of course I'm not guilty. The car got stolen alright — stolen by them. I don't have it anymore. It's gone like my computer, my phone, my clothes."

MUGSHOTS FROM TENNESSEE DRUG ROUND-UP

OK, WE admit it. We find rural drug busts irresistible, particularly when they are accompanied by mug shots. It was a dope bust in Grainger County, Tennessee. We don't really know anything about it and couldn't be bothered to look but the mugshots are great.

KRISTA DITTMEYER'S MOM 'SHOCKED' BY DOUBLE LIFE

MURDERED Maine Mom Krista Dittmeyer's family are not only dealing with her heartbreaking slaying but also new revelations she was involved in the seedy drug underworld. According to the Boston Herald, the pretty slain 20-year-old's mother, Lanell Shackley,  "trembled" after hearing of her darker side.
Friend Kathryn Pratt said: “I think it was just a shock to her. She had no idea. This is all a shock to her.”
Pratt added that Shackley had never met Michael Petelis, the
28-year-old Ossipee, N.H., man who prosecutors said pledged to be Krista's “protector” while her boyfriend served time in jail on a drug rap. Instead, he set her up for murder in a botched dope heist, detectives believe. The pretty waitress was lured to his apartment then bashed in the head by henchman Anthony Papile. He then dumped her body and abandoned her Nissan with her 14-month-old daughter, Kyla in the back

Pratt also said that Shackley is “angry for what they did to her daughter... Absolutely, she didn’t deserve to die like this. No one does.” Papile, 28, of Ossipee, was charged with second-degree murder. Petelis and Ferguson were charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.

3 MEN ARRESTED IN KRISTA DITTMEYER MURDER

ANTHONY PAPILE
KRISTA
PM UPDATE: COPS IN New Hampshire have made arrests in the brutal murder of single mom Krista Dittmeyer. According to cops, Dittmeyer was killed by a hit in the head with a rubber club in a botched dope heist.
Three men have been charged in the 20-year-old Portland waitresses murder two weeks ago. Her body was discovered in a pond at a ski resort less than 20 miles from her home. Anthony Papile, 28, is charged with second-degree murder while Trevor Ferguson, 23, and Michael Petelis, 28,
have each been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery. According to court documents, it was Papile who hit the pretty mom in the head as she walked up the stairs to his apartment on April 22 – a day before her car was found idling with her baby girl inside at Cranmore Mountain Resort in Conway.
Apparently, Papile and Petelis bound Dittmeyer with duct tape and put her in the trunk of the car. Papile then tossed her bound body in the snowmaking pond where it was discovered.
The criminal complaint says Papile caused Dittmeyer's death by "suffocating and/or drowning."
The arrests wrap up an intensive two-week investigation and manhunt that shocked the rural area of western Maine and eastern New Hampshire.
