National Enquirer Internet Traffic Up 1890% Since Reporting Obama Cheating Scandal

As the news blackout over the alleged cheating scandal between President Barack Obama and Vera Baker continues, internet traffic going towards the National Enquirer’s website is through the roof and heading out of the galaxy.

From Entertainment and Show Biz.com:

The story on US President Barack Obama alleged affair with his campaign aid Vera Baker has generated a huge traffic for The National Enquirer’s website.

The publication is the first to come up with such an allegation against the President based on the account given by an anonymous limo driver and a video footage which is still to be found.

Nevertheless there is immense curiosity on this story and consequently the traffic for Enquirer’s website has gone up by 1890%, which has been tracked by Alexa.com.

This not the first time that Enquirer has published an alleged scandal involving a political figure, it has done it before as well. The National Enquirer was the first to report the extra-marital affair of Democratic Vice-Presidential Nominee John Edward’s affair with his campaigner Rielle Hunter.

It also broke the story on Sarah Palin’s daughter’s pregnancy in 2008 when she was campaigning for the Vice-Presidential post. Now it’s attempting to rock the presidency with the claims of an alleged affair between Obama and Baker in 2004 during his Illinois Senate campaign.

But the story is not given mileage by any of the major media houses except the gossipsites. They stay clear from controversies and continue to focus on other relevant issues.
